A person with glasses smiles while seated at a kitchen counter, surrounded by baskets of apples and pears, a pumpkin, herbs, and a jug of cider—all part of their Eat to Beat Disease journey. A large leafy plant and a colorful painting add charm to the cozy scene.

Eat to Beat Disease

The body’s five defence systems and the foods that could save your life.

Dr Li is a doctor, scientist and angiogenesis* expert

*Angiogenesis is the process of new capillaries forming out of pre-existing blood vessels in your body.

Early in his career, Dr Li would sometimes be asked by patients what they could eat so that they could help themselves.  At the time he did not have an answer because he had not been educated or trained to know how to respond.  This prompted him to seek the answers that led him to write this book.

His book is a good introduction to understanding how food can improve our health.  He offers an evidence-based approach to help prevent and improve recovery from major diseases, such as cancer, stroke, heart disease and diabetes.

He offers a health risk score system, sample meal guide and recipes.  The book offers of huge choice of over 200 health-defending foods for all appetites.  He writes about the benefit of including seafood in our diet, and he does address the mercury issue relating to fish but does not include comment on the new awareness of microplastics also found in fish.

Included are 25 new immunity-boosting recipes.

I suggest that you read the book through before implementing any changes.  Also if you are currently having medical treatment, speak to your doctor about the diet changes you may wish to make.

If you are willing to rethink your diet in order to increase your immunity, energy and resilience, this is an excellent book that could help you to achieve that.
